Can We Start Over?

Can we start over? Can we begin again?

Has my light shown itself to sin?

Where are you? Where is my trust in you?

Who in the hell do you think you are?

To come into my life and try to leave a mark.

To lie to me, to cry to me.

If this is love then I want a refund

It’s no longer fun, it’s no longer us.

Where is the trust?

Where is the person I thought I knew?

The person I could tell anything to.

The person that never judged me but instead trusted me, loved me and held me.

Where is this person?

You asked me, Can we start over?

Shit, I don’t know.

Can you take back the lies or the tears I had to cry?

My hope for us and my hope for you is that we can try.

The trust we had I no longer pursue.

Can we start over? Can we begin again?

Have I shown my light to you again?

Has my light shown itself to sin?

Peace and Love,

P.s. This is art and does not reflect a current moment in my life.

The Enemy’s Games

Oh how the enemy loves to play their games

Trapping us at the moment when we go insane

For that second or 3, we have given them the power over us

Power over our attitude and actions

Although we can only blame ourselves by letting the enemy get that close

The enemy will go to any lengths and that is what hurts the most

No matter the detriment no matter the cost

The enemy plays with our minds and our hearts

Attempting to scramble them and tear us apart

Why do we give this power to someone we don’t know?

Are we afraid to give the power back to ourselves?

Be strong in the times that the enemy perceives us as weak

All we can do is pray that the hand doesn’t land on the other cheek

Pray that the mistakes the enemy catches us in, won’t destroy our joy

Pray and decide to never let the enemy win again

Oh how the enemy loves to play their games

They won’t win this time

I have the upper hand, the royal flush, the ace in the hole

Enemy, you won’t win my soul.

Finding Worth in the Middle of the Earth: April 1st – #Easter

On this day I am reminded not only of the sacrifice of our Savior but of the meaning that it holds. So many times in today’s society we recognize that the ability to love and be selfless is lost among us. However, this spiritual leader gave his life so that we all may have the opportunity to live a life free of sin and pain. Unfortunately, achieving this in our lives have been a difficult task due to our own issues. The work that we must be willing to put in is the reflection upon ourselves and the spiritual work involved in that. This week I am working on something different in my approach and in the way I pray and praise.

There are some things in my life that I must be willing to sacrifice in order to achieve and reach what God has for me. Calvary is the symbol of sacrifice and the unconditional love of Christ, meant to represent the love that Jesus had for us. Although this post is crafted towards those in Christian leaning belief systems, the message to take from this is that we all need to be more giving and willing to sacrifice things for the greater good. What are we willing to do for each other? Are we willing to do what is necessary so that not only our needs are met but those of the ones we love? Today I ask that you not only reflect on the sacrifice of Christ but his resurrection. Just like in our own lives we must be willing to sacrifice our old self and be prepared for the resurrection of our spiritual being.
